Once MEP is mounted on cycle and MEPManager is installed on PC:
To start, you need only to:

Ride to turn on the MEP crank
Note:From the time you stop riding, it will be on for 3 minutes
- Right click the icon for the Bluetooth device and run "Add Device"
- Depending on the model of Bluetooth stack, it is necessary to install the new device "MEP" as a serial device and store the COM port assigned by the system
- When prompted to insert the "pairing code" 0000 to make the connection
- Run the software MEPManager and set the COM port as previously stored (password 3333)
- Exit MEPManager via command [X] EXIT
To start, you need only to:
- Pedal to activate the device
- Run MEPManager
Important:
Use Bluetooth stacks supplyed with your Bluetooth dongles (internal or USB external).
Only if
you encounter any problem, try unistalling the supplyed stack and use the Microsoft default stack (proved to work under Vista and 7 for most of USB dongles).
...smartphone (with Windows Mobile 6+):

Go to "Settings" -> "Connections" -> "Bluetooth" -> "Add a new device"
(wait for device searching... until "MEP device" is found) - Select "MEP device" and press "Continue"
- Insert the protection code "0000" (four ZEROs)
- Press "Continue" and wait for the message "Pocket PC connected to MEP"
- Select "MEP device" again
- Select "[v]" on "Serial Port"
- Press "Save"
- Go to "COM ports" -> "Add a new port"
- Select "MEP device"
- Press "Continue"
- Select "COM6"
- Press "Save"
- Close all windows and come back to main menu
To start, you need only to:
- Pedal to activate the device
- Run MEPPhone
* List of known failures with USB dongles/stacks & O.S.:
- Some USB dongle + BlueSoleil Stack & with WIN_7 work for few minutes, then data flow becomes corrupted
- Some old USB dongle with WIN_XP randomly disconnect MEP
